Having a baby is arguably the most important milestone in an adult's life. One of the best things about this line of work, is being lucky enough to capture memories of this transition to parenthood for new parents. I won't lie... This maternity session was easily my most anticipated photo session this year. The session was booked several months ago when mom and dad had only just learned they were expecting because they were just so excited about becoming parents and getting to document this special time in their lives. Many email exchanges later, including dialogue about the best wardrobe (and how amazing and beautifully feminine is mom's dress?!) and where to have the maternity photo session, I finally got to meet these two. And they were even lovelier than I was lead to believe they would be from our email exchanges. Given that our next photo session will be indoors, we took the opportunity to hold their maternity photo session outside and we hit up many of the iconic New York City hot spots, including, Central Park West, Bow Bride in Central Park, The San Remo and even Bethesda Terrace (to see another Central Park maternity session, check out this blog post). Leading up to the session we were understandably nervous about the weather. Even though it is spring in New York City the weather is still stuck in the depths of winter so it was touch-and-go about whether we could even pull off an outdoor maternity session. But New York City weather has a way of surprising you sometimes and we managed to hold the session on the one spring-like day we've had in months. These images go down as some of my favorite to date and the only thing that surpasses how beautiful these two are is how genuine and laid back they are. Their baby girl is super lucky to have this duo as her parents!
