It’s fun to work in new locations. It keeps my work fresh and it makes the day of the family session interesting. Mama R contacted me last year and wanted to move in a more journalistic direction for her family photos – fabulous! Her desired backdrop for her annual family photos was abandoned railway tracks, and so I went location scouting. There are quite a few such locations in Orange County. But the location I chose in Fullerton was quiet, had long stretches of abandoned tracks and some greenery. By the day of our shoot, the location had changed a little because we’ve had so much rain this winter, which is great - we definitely need it, but it made the ground shift around because the scenery was a dirty one. Nevertheless, we made it work. And the day of our shoot ended up being the one sunny day in the stretch of gray rainy days that we have been having. As a mom of two, and also a boy and a girl, this session made me all the more excited to watch my baby girl grow. The sibling interaction between these two was oh so sweet. Mama R – your family is so lucky to have you. You put so much time and energy into arranging your family’s annual photos and the genuine loving connection that your family shares was a treat to be privy to for an afternoon.
