Scheduling our session
Where are you based?
I live in New York City and I happily work in all 5 boroughs. If you’re not in NYC, not a problem. Call me and we’ll see if we can make it work.
What packages do you offer?
All sessions include: 90 minute session held in your cozy home or an outdoor location of interest (I don’t watch the clock though, I promise), 50+ edited images (images are selected by me and delivered as high resolution JPEGs) and a print release for all images (you can print until your heart’s delight, but you cannot use the images for anything commercial). To inquire regarding my pricing and availability, please contact me.
When should we schedule our maternity, newborn or family session?
For a maternity session, the ideal time is between 32 and 37 weeks. I know you’ll be exhausted at this point, but I want to make sure I capture your beautiful bump, and these are the prime weeks to do so. For a newborn session, 3-6 weeks after your due date is ideal. For a family session, any time works. The busiest times are fall and spring, but I will happily schedule a session in any season.
When should we meet?
I only work with natural light, so the best times to meet is in the early morning or late afternoon (within a couple of hours of sunrise or sunset).
At our session
What if the weather isn’t playing nicely or what if one of us gets sick?
Not a problem – we can reschedule. Weather misbehavior, and feeling under the weather (no pun intended!), are common. I’ll keep a close eye on the weather right up until our date and we can reschedule if we need to.
What should we wear?
The most important thing is that you’re all comfortable in what you wear. We might be running around or sitting on the ground, so comfort is key. I would avoid lettering on shirts (it doesn’t show up as well as you think), mixing too many patterns (polka dots, bold stripes) and being overly “matchy” (all of you in polo shirts). Neutral colors photograph really well and so do colors and layers. For newborns, a swaddle, some pants or a onesie (where teeny-tiny hands and legs can be seen and captured) are fabulous choices.
What should we bring?
For a family session, having snacks and drinks handy can be a lifesaver. For that reason, bring wet wipes too (just in case we enjoy said snacks too much). Other than that, a blanket or a toy that your kiddos adore could be fun, but kids can make fun everywhere, so I’ll leave the choice about toys up to you.
After our session
When do we get our photos?
I will send you a link to your online gallery as soon as I can, which is typically 2-4 weeks after our session. If I can get them to you sooner, I will, but the art of editing takes time.
What if I don’t like the photos?
My client service perspective is simple: if you’re not happy, I’ll make it right. So if you’re not completely jazzed with your photos, let’s chat, and I’ll do whatever I can to fix it.
Do you offer prints?
Yes indeedy. You can order prints from your online gallery which links to one of the great photo labs I work with, or you can get them printed yourself. It’s your call.
